Superjedi's RS Props SE for TI Wingman

I find myself in a very unusual situation! Since I'm waiting on ear parts to finish helmet number 57, I have helmets number 57 and 58 at the exact same stage of completion!
Here they are side by side.

Number 57 is on the left in all pics. It's a Fugly kit from Wasted Fett's molds, cast by the owner, BudaFett. It's a screen used ESB version.

Number 58 is a second gen casting from RS Propmasters and it's an SE.

I just thought it would be interesting to see them together.

I did some very minor prep on the metal ears, then masked off the parts which will remain bare metal. After that I gave them a couple of light coats of self-etching primer.

I got the base coats on the ears this afternoon. Love that exposed bare metal on the RF ear parts!

I like to give the ear base colors at least 24 hours to cure before I tape them off for the markings, so I'm working on a couple of the accessories.
Here are the RF (pre-assembled by RS Props) and the Elstree Precision Borden piece.
I still need to add the rust stains on the RF stalk.

Since there's no masking needed on the lower RF ear, I finished detailing that piece.
Look at that metal shine!

I airbrushed the black arch on the upper RF ear piece. I also added the rusty weathering to the RF stalk.

Got some more ear work done.
I masked and airbrushed the white markings.

The RF ear cap is finished. On the SE helmet, the "T" marking with the black circle is worn away to almost nothing. Only a couple of black chips remain.

I finished the left ear today.
All paintwork is now complete! I'll begin final weathering next.

Boba should fix whatever is leaking in Slave I's cockpit.
