Fett Helmet History

The dent was added by cutting a hole and adding the dent...as you can see in the PP2 helmet its very shoddy work....

The Helmet is Fiberglass also not ABS. Dont recall if we know who sculpted it though?

Do we know any more information about who added the dents or how they were made? I recently messaged Sandy Dhuyvetter and she said that the helmets she painted arrived to her with the dents already in them and still white.

Wow, I didn't know that!

A little preview of the work in progress "History of the Boba Fett Helmets" photo book I am working on...

If you have any high quality photos or information you would like added, please message me! I have been mining TDH for all of the information and photos.

I know they arent rare but if you wanted, I have acess to an MR Boba helmet that I could professionally shoot from any angle you could possibly want. Probably also could find a backgrund that would work well with your book.

In terms of adding information... both to your photobook and to the tdh helmet history overview:
It would be tremendously helpful to break down the origins of the helmet options that are on the market today... Bobamaker, FPH2, GMH, etc. etc. etc.
A second "poster" so to speak that would help people get background info from one reliable source to decide which helmet to go for.

That would be awesome! I am working on getting all of the info, photos, etc for those helmets and vendors as well

I acquired a Man Of War Studios 2005 helmet. I cant find any more info on the web regarding his studio helmet in particular. Any thoughts on what it may have been cast from? I can send pics if needed.

Yes, doesn't he still have is plug or did he sell it?
No longer owns it. There was talk of him doing another run around 2015, maybe 2014, with another; that could have been Vader Maker or Vader Painter - something like that.
Anyway, that never happened and the buck changed hands. What did come of it all was the CT casts and the Malone Day Fett casts.
The latter being, essentially, a Malone Fett with further cleanup. From a quality of casting point of view those are beautiful. The only downside of the MDF was that they didn't come with ears, however; in these times of 3D printing, that's not the issue it might once have been.
Ryan Rubio painted one as PP2. I think the thread is call 'let's paint a PP2'

Oh yeah, I remember the CT and Malone Day helmets. I texted with Lee a couple of months ago and mentioned his helmets (I have very early FP that he painted and signed inside), and I tried to convince him to cast a few more. He said he would think about it.

Whenever I finally get a new helmet, He has told me several times to send my helmet back to him so he could touch up the paint.

I don't know how all that works with who has rights to what and who's allowed to do such and such. As you know those things get complicated very quickly. Given those MDFs are already out there that would be the easier route I think.

He's done some amazing paintups. Some of his, now very, old work is still up on the Star Wars helmets site. Amazing really.
Remember I mentioned the Singleseat ROTJ MF earlier. It's one of the best I've seen: pre stencil by the way - Crikey!!!!!!

Yeah, it gets really confusing on who can do what to which helmet. He told me that the helmet I have was in his first batch of helmets he painted not long after he did the MR paint master. He also said he would like to take a look at how the paint has faded over time, and would like to try to fix any errors he finds.

Found these on a search this morning after messaging Brian Muir - the sculptor of the Vader and Stormtrooper helmets. He gave me the name "Jan Stevens." Apparently she died about 35 years ago.

RafalFett discovered her to be the sculptor of the Supertrooper and then found these photos back in the day. I downloaded the Making of The Empire Strikes Back ebook, which appeared to having higher quality photos. I adjusted them a little bit more to pull some details out of them.

That's Janet Stevens, who sculpted the Supertrooper helmet while working at Stuart Freeborn’s shop.
