Building A Death Star Basement

ImperialPanels

New Hunter
Hello everyone!
Last March, I decided to embark on a journey to finish my basement, with a Starwars theme in place, more specifically with lots of Death star elements incorporated. I'll be updating these pictures regularly so you can see the progress of my basement and hopefully it provides some inspiration for you to pick up a project in your own space. Feel free to ask any questions i'll do my best to answer them! :)

I just posted a video on my Instagram of a quick walk threw of the current build progress. Check it out here: Current build progress link, click me.

Here is what i'm working on currently;
- Storm Trooper going on second mannequin beside Han Solo and Mandalorian when completed.
- Death Star paneling around the entire theatre room (2 completed - 2 remaining).
- Paint Death Star paneling.
- A framed space window (TV with paneling) with tie fighters and rebels battling on loop sequence.
Once that is completed, that takes care of the bulk of the basement. Then I can work on adding small details like droid access panels and final touches.

A little extra something, I know there is instructions online on how to build a Death Star light panel, but for the life of me, you CANNOT find instructions on how to build the other paneling (cut out shapes and vents). It took me a while, but I managed to create some based of reference images I saw on the forums and original references from the film. I will go ahead and post these instructions on how to build them once I finished the build, so stay tuned!!! :)

To the left of the Storm Trooper, I will be adding a giant space illusion window and should be up within the next few days. I added some of my Imperial panels to the right, V1, V2 and a transition piece to complete the interior death star look.

Galaxy lamps to accent the ceiling.

Over the course of the next few months, I'll be adding more detail work to the death star cave, here is the current plan;
- Add the giant space illusion window beside the Storm Trooper.
- Make a legacy light saber wall.
- Make droid access panels.

I have some very exciting news. I have been working hard on launching a website, where you can purchase tailored Imperial Panels such as the ones you see in the photo's above. These Imperial Panels will come hand cut to size to fit nearly all wall heights/dimensions and are painted/finished as well, you simply need to hang them on the wall, which is quite easy to do (like hanging a picture frame set).
They are hand made from 1/2" premium MDF board and should closely resemble the Death Star paneling and will instantly transform your space for a more immersive experience.

The first 10 customers will receive 15% off their entire order.

Here is the website: ImperialPanels

Stay tuned for more progress on the basement build! :)
