Boba Fett ESB Helmet Ultra Stencils

RafalFett

Well-Known Hunter
Five months in the making and now I can call these done. Let me know if you see some errors or misplaced scratches.

There are color variations on most areas, mostly because one of the main colors was painted over an existing color (some of these are touch-ups to hide or tone down the silver weathering), thus a new shade had enrichened an already perfect paint job:

You're welcome! There are lots of areas with lots of hidden gems; I see your helmet lacks the white thumbprint, which is one of the unique characteristics of the ESB helmet.

No worries, it is planned. I didn't put the white adds yet. Just the dark grey and silver because I started the work by filling the seam between the two pieces and I wanted all trace to disapear.
Speaking of, I never realised it was a thumbprint (from Joe Johnston ?). Would you recommand to brushpaint it or to "thumb" it ? :/

I printed the stencils on a glossy vinyl, and while ideally you should wait at least 24/48 hours until the ink fully cures, I was eager to see how these will look on my RS helmet. A better variant would be to print on a matte vinyl instead of glossy, but also to pre-convert the files from RGB to CMYK, because most printer don't handle well the conversion:

Left printed on matte vinyl pre-converted to CMYK and on the right printed on glossy vinyl with the conversion made by the printer's program.

And here are the photos of the helmet and its parts:

After I took these photos I stripped down the helmet and cleaned it from the glue residues.

You can see some artefacts around the misted areas, but these were due to how sometimes files converted to PDFs then reconverted to be printed work:

But on the pre-converted files those artefacts are gone:
