The only difference I see is the gadget/greeblie colors are too bright and don't look like the've been used, whereas the origionals had some action. That and the gloves are too bright.

Her and my colors have been fooled around with alot on photoshop. I could tell that they played with the brightness on her shot. I know I fooled alot with the contrast and brightness too on mine, cause my xo didn't put enough lighting to my pic. So I had to edit it a lot. If it's slight, that's not a problem. If it's a major difference like the gloves and maybe the cumberbund color, that's a problem. I am shooting for what "looks" like a good combo in relation to the neoprene. All of her stuff is different colors. And, that shot and the cardboard stand up shot has a lot of red saturation. I could weather the greebs a bit though. Thanks for the imput!
ZIA - Looks great. The thing that sticks out to me is that the greeblies are about 30% too bing. Especially the 'razor' on the leg.
The leather colors are off, but besides that it is hard to match a leather color, you have a moving target depending on the source lighting.

yeah yeah... I knew about the greebs awhile ago... ONLY the leg greeb is 3 cm too big. The football, mouse and bottle greeb are off by 1 cm and the arm one is exact size. I mentioned this WAY earlier. Reason being, is I made them before I got the cardboard cut out. And, I had already sliced the leg greeb down from 5 cm too big to 3 cm too big. Any more alterations, and I would have compromised detail/proportion. And after sculpting for months, I didn't want to start all over. So, they are not ALL off by 30%. Just the leg one. Besides, I had to get them produced, because time was of essence. Zam I Ain't had to throw away at least 5 molds of that pain-in-the-butt leg greeb alone, because of the air bubble problems and undercuts, not to mention the resin castings. IF I ever re-did the greebs, it would be the mouse one. I am more worried about my vest being too puffy (which everyone else wouldn't have that prob-because I told my seamstress how much to take it in for everyone else's patterns) and my skirt not being long enough.
My leather was all airbrush painted. So, I have to tinker with the paints more. All the leather pieces are really different colors but somehow blend. If you look at the MOM shots, you can really see the difference in hues. So, I don't care if it's a little off, just so that it blends in the right fashion. Like the cumberbun should be about the same degree of darker purp than the vest, which should be a bit lighter, but with the same depth, so that it "blends." Being as it was the first time we ever airbrushed createx and we were scrambling for Dragon Con, i would say, not bad. (I mean we did color tests a little bit, but didn't have time for more testing. Those gloves are different than the ones I brought to dragon con too though.
Found some blue ones from walmart and only did a once over with the paint.

Honestly, without the real pictures next to yours, you really wouldn't notice any of the places that are "off," like proportions and the other things you've pointed out, except maybe weathering. Other than those little things, it looks dead on.

YEAH!!! That's what i like to see... Our goal of the "ultimate Zam costume" is getting closer I really need to get busy on those gauntlet cuffs, eh¿ (they look so naked w/o em)...
I really hope you, someday, reconsider doing a new set of "accessories".. cause they really do look way too big, especially when shown side by side. I know you worked VERY hard on them and I think that they are GREAT (I have my set in my Zam showcase)... you did an excellent job on the sculpting and painting - getting them near-dead on.... it's just a bummer that you didn't have anything at the time for size comparison and i know time was an issue... but now we have all the time in the world for upgrades... Remember - we can't FINISH the "ultimate Zam" anytime soon - cause we have to keep this forum going - or else "The Dent" will drop it and they'll have to change the TDH logo and all that :facepalm hee hee.
Oh... and like i mentioned to you at DC ... i stil think yer gloves are too bulky - but that's just me

Muhahaha, yeah, I have MORE pics. But I have to really scrutinize them, cause they aren't comparable like those two pics shown above. I need to have more shots of her in specific poses that I can mimic. The rest so far are just for my 501st id. And when I get to understanding how to work html more, my website is going toe be tons better. But! I will have more when we get a chance to get more professional shots done next year, since we have another photo shoot scheduled, and he is going to have better lighting and background. Hopefully, I can get half of the stuff done on my list before the next shoot and mebbe have even better photos for accuracy purposes and Farpoint. Our MD 501st is going to be a huge presence there this comming year.
Those gloves I have Dallas-in the new pics, are the new-er thinner ones. I can't get thinner than those. They aren't the same as the ones at D'con. Absolutely no stuffing in the new-er ones.

Oh and unfortunately, I found stuff on your gauntlets Dal that you might consider reworking. I will pm you about it. About me re-working the greebs, that wouldn't happen until after I fix the obvious stuff, vest, skirt, shoe uppers, glove uppers, coloring. The greebs aren't really that much bigger come on, 1 cm! (i can understand the leg greeb should be smaller but.. eh..it can wait...) Besides, I want to help others be able to troop before 2005. That is the real killjoy. I mean, C3 Should have MAJOR zamming going on. In fact, JangoMontes and I already thought of some skits ~mebbe for the Masquerade. And, we are definately going to need Zammers.

Personally I wouldn't take any notice of the "nay sayers" Zam, they're the kind of people that complain if a scratch of weathering on a Boba helmet is 2mm too short.
Any costume is a sum of it's parts, and I think yours looks bloody sensational.

No, I am not angry, just getting defensive. Zam does the Jackie Chan moves. Change that- I know, and knew, and posted that the greebs were off in another thread. It's just when tons of people say the same thing about something that is proportionately off that I can't do anything about at that moment, especially on a finished product, it gets annoying that #1- I wish I had that cardboard stand up sooner, #2 if they notice it is proportionately off, don't lump all the greebs in the same percentage boat. It's mainly just that 1 leg greeb that calls more attention. Off by 1 cm for 3 others really isn't that bad. For one year worth of work sculpting, molding, casting, asking, asking AGAIN if you all notice imperfections, resculpting each one over- for a sculptor(which means starting from scratch). YES, I am angry atm, and will get over it as usual. QUOTE a wise statement from that noble queen: "All of our mentors have a way of seeing more of our faults that we don't like- it's the only way we'll grow," Yes- I will grow, but it is a major growing pain and hurts a bit, because i am overly critical about my stuff, and I was trying as many fail safe methods as possible not to make any unnecessary mistakes, especially not bleed myself dry on the $ part getting things "perfect". And I had failed. But what majorly sucks is realisticly, resculpting those greebs is a long way off on my list because #1-I work three jobs and am barely saving for any future offspring, #2 have never had an offer from LUCAS #3 or have his type of funding to make this stuff from scratch over and over again. Sorry everyone, my leg greeb is 3 cm off and three others are 1 cm off.

Thanks DarthBish for the consolation it does help out alot, but the Zammers know that if they critique the h*ll outta my stuff, I would take the bullet and try to fix any Zam costuming things if there was any way possible. Because I am just as picky about scratches being 2mm too short too
And, these people know that I am the one that asks for this type of scrutiny-so it's my fault.(wow-how come It's always my fault? ) If you have read other zam threads, I have yelled at zammers for not being picky enough-it's quite amusing. So, no harm done Look! I am growing, I have wings!

I'm sorry Yvonne.. i hope you didn't think i was ripping on your work or on you personally... like i said it a million times - i think your work and you, personally, are the GREATEST! And by me saying that I think your "accessories" are too big - it is NOT a rip on you at all!!!! I KNOW i did not make the Zam parts I made absolutely perfect either... there is ALWAYS room for improvement - that is why we are here.
Seeing your costume on its own - it is TRULY a beautiful site... but, obviously, when you put the pic side by side w/ the real deal - one can't help but point out the differences (as minute as they may be). That is our purpose of TDH - to critique, to perfect, to create that ULTIMATE Zam/Fetts.
So... for now, continue on and fix the things that REALLY stand out as obviously "off"... things like the length of the skirt (and thickness hee hee).... the colors, etc... but once you get that done and you get the time/motivation - then you can go back and revisit things like the "accessories"...
BTW - just to be a pain in the ass - your bottle is a good 2cm too tall - which may not seem like much - but on something that's only 7cm tall (the real one) in the first place - that is a lot to be off.
The arm piece is DEAD ON in size...
haven't checked the the other two yet (football and mouse) - as i don't have a life sized shot of them yet...

I just threw my back out trying to measure that dumb bottle greeb, brat! Had to sit in front of the heater for 30 minutes. HATE your reverse psycology. Yeah, you're right about the measurements. PM sent. I tried posting this message like 2 hours ago. Man, that's sad.
Oh, btw, I already bought 5-6 oz leather for the skirt.. :rolleyes But it is mostly in how you lace it. I did relace the middle on one column, and it does relax the skirt. Unlacing everything and relacing takes more time/energy thank starting a new one. That one column took forever to do. I still have like three more columns I could re-do from lace left over, but I am going to just start on another skirt and probably make my squares like around 2 1/4 inch tall. That would give it an somewhere around 3 inches in total extra length.

I'm suffering froma case of "don't haunt this board much," so I would have no idea what was said about your stuff. Sorry to offend.
BTW - if you need a good glove pattern, I can turn you on to how it is done. You have to be anything but faint at heart to sew it up, but they turn out great. Custom gloves is one of the few things that darn near eveyone I talked to said 'pass' to when I asked for help.
