What size hose is everybody using for Gauntlets?

Hey guys,
I know this may sound like a stupid question, but i'm kinda at a block:wacko. I planned on using plastic nylon braided hose for my gaunts(see below), but it doesn't come in smaller sizes ( at least not where I live).
I was wonbering what kind of tubing you guys were using, and what size would be appropriate?

For any other noobs who were wondering, I went with PVC vinyl braided hose; OD; 1/2", ID, 1/4".

LF, pardon my ignorance but what is meant by "OD" and "ID"? And where did you finally find them? Home Depot? Thanks bro.

Thanks Bacta, most helpful! OK then, what is the "plug block" as in "In the special edition footage (Return of the Jedi) one hose is connected to the plug block on the right gauntlet and no hoses are connected to the left gauntlet"?
