I can think of two reasons straight off the bat.I would love to see the back panels because it makes no sense to me to remove lots of paint details for just a small "hair".
1. The paint detail in this area appears relatively light in the layering compared to other areas, i.e. what is more objectionable.
2. It's a clear tell on the lineage of the helmet. Whomever cast the helmet would know it had the bristle and call someone out at which point they would have to instantly holler UNCLE!
