With the damage preserved in the surface of the helmet, I'm able to do fun stuff like do all the fine scratches before I paint the silver and gray areas.

Cat scratch time! I love doing this feature. The molded-in layers give somewhat of a guide, but you have to keep a pretty steady hand!

Starting to get into the crazy parts of the SE paintjob. I finished the turn signal area and have begun working on some of the "muck" on the dome.

This SE damage is so much fun! I weathered this part by dropping the helmet off the top of the Empire State building.
Oh, and the dent is finished too. Lol



Again, having the damage in the surface of the cast allows me to do all of this before painting the killstripes.

The crown of the dome on the SE is an utter mess... I love it!

How about some color! I got the killstripes on this morning. Lots of checking and double checking the molded-in remnants to make sure everything is positioned correctly.




Now I can finish the "muck" on the left side of the dome.

Ok, apart from a couple of minor items that I'll do during final weathering, the dome is complete!



I'll work on the cheeks next.

The right cheek is finished. There's not too much SE damage on this section, just a bit.

Oh! The red is on, that's what it is.
I gave the MQ-1 circuit board some attention, too.

I started the damage on the red parts with the keyslot area. From here I'll move up to the band.

Here's the center section of the red band. Lots of tiny chips and scratches.

The right section of the band is finished now. That wraps up the "basic" painting behind the ears!
