Here's the right side of the brow. This area is a good warm up for the mandibles!

We're half mandibled! Mandiblized? Mandiblated?
Anyway, the crazy right side is up next!

The upper half of the right mandible is finished! Whew...
I'm adding my traditional collage showing how I work this area building the detail topically.

Oooh collage time, now we are getting to it.

The right mandible is complete!
That takes care of all the basic paint apps on the helmet itself.
Next I'll start on the weathering effects and the ears.

I added the white thumbprints to the left side of the helmet. The poor ESB lid went through so much during its life!

And every helmet you paint has fingerprint evidence of the great Super Jedi!

Ears are in work. Here's the lower RF ear.

I have airbrushed the arches on the ear pieces.

Those are some nice ears..now just muck em up a little and they will be perfect.

I finished the upper RF ear. I'll add the little black lines on the bare metal portion after the clear coat is applied.

The left ear is all done.
Next will be final weathering!

Here's number 65 all finished!
The weathering stages included an acrylic wash, application of pigment powders, and the "spatter" that is seen mostly on the right side of the helmet.
To recap, this was an FPH2 in fiberglass and gelcoat with some excellent metal ears.
