Holiday Special Boba Fett ​

I just wanted to use this thread for me to organize my work and to hopefully get feedback from the community who stumbles across this to get feedback so I can improve.

This is the first time working on anything like this before. I am already kinda deep into it but I’ll post pictures soon.

Cutting and prepping​

For the first part I’ve mostly been focusing on my hard parts.

My chest piece wasn’t to difficult but I did cut this one out of sintra.


Then once formed I went onto the cod and kidney. I cut that one as well but then I used bondo and some filler to get that curved part of the cod. I also have the kidney I just forgot to take pictures in this stage


Additional I cut collar out as well, but for the back plate I just purchase one and went about attaching the two via the bolt method.

Painting ​

So for the painting I did the masking method to show damage, but I kinda mess up and had to re do it sense I wasn’t satisfied.

I stuck to the original colors of the cartoon instead of the 1/6 people tend to lean towards sense I like the yellow and grey combo.

For reference so you can see what I messed up haha.

And how I painted it minus the collar at this point. I painted the cod and kidney the wrong color (which I liked). I also didn’t like how much space the blaster dents took up on the left chest belt. So I changed it all cause wanted to look like the cartoon colors.

This is were I did the layering technique to the armor. I redid every piece to the more like the reference but still have damage and I added abit of extra to it.

I stated with just the cod, kidney, collar and shoulders. I redid the grey parts because when doing the layering I noticed the blue on the cod and kidney cane through so I liked and added it to the rest.


After I went on to the chest and did the layering technique to it as well and to shrink down the size of the damage on the chest.

This is how it came out in the lighting. Plus I did my knees!

The armor took on a different color once I moved it to a different spot. Here is all of it together with my cape too.

Shoes ​

I finished my shoes up they weren’t to bad to do. I got them from Imperial Boots and then the shoe darts from QuestDesignCanda. The only thing is I need to figure out what to use on the bottom of the shoe so the black doesn’t rub off when walking.

Sacros K-11​

For this I found a 3D file over on thingiverse. Just has to prep it like any other 3D print and then paint.

Flak Vest
​

Recently I was able to pick up a vest and I attached the armor to it! I think I attached them correctly but if a genie had any pointers then would be appreciated! Also I know I don’t have the correct back plate just decided to use this one.

Jetpack ​

For the jetpack I’d didnt get any molds from the makers on here. Got a 3D printed one which allows for some extra weight to be gone but does take away from the look of a single piece in some areas.

So I started out by filling and sanding then primed the pieces. Then went over if needed and then put a coat of silver over them

Followed by painting the smaller pieces.

Then I started to glue the pieces together.

Then this is what I came out with plus I got a working light and I all I gotta do now it attach the piano keys and then I am making a light kit for the thrusters!

Jetpack Part 2 ​

Did some more work on the jetpack now just have to set up my light kit for the inside.

Helmet ​

Haven’t posted in a while so thought I’d share where I am at with my helmet so far. I purchased a MinuteFett for this.

Stated out like anyone does and cut out the visor, sanded it and drilled holes for the ears to be attached.

Once I finished all that I went about priming and then laying the silver down.

Then lastly just masking and painting.

Currently just working on the ears waiting for a hollow stalk and then put the rest of the pieces together!

Jetpack Final Part ​

Finally got around to installing the lights for the thrusters. Now can move on to other projects!

For the thrusters I just used a light kit I got off of amazon.

Helmet Final Part​

Finally finished giving the helmet a mate clear coat and installing some padding inside and lights in the range finder! Here is the final outcome of the helmet.

I'm starting to build a Holiday Special Fett and found this thread and just wanted to tip my cap to you, VutycFett . Very nicely done and I'll definitely be using some of your WIP photos for reference. I'm primarily using the Hot Toys Animated Fett but I like the layering you did on the armor and the weathering of the jetpack very much. Would love to see a completed pic!
