We spent our last two Papa Fett sessions of the year working on the boots. Used all acrylic paints to complete the process. Started off with spraying the boots with water and then applying the acrylic paint to the boots. The process works well when the acrylic paint is watered down too. Noticed that when trying to apply the paint to the boots before adding water to it caused some blotches that had to be reworked. It took a few applications to get the darker tones to show. The darker middle area needed roughly 4 applications to get it that dark and drying it with a hair dryer in between each application sped up the process. Below are the acrylic paint colors that we used. Once they dried we used sand paper to beat them up a bit. I think we will do one more pass with the sand paper especially on the black piping. We used hot glue to install the toe spikes to keep them in place before adding the screws. They are on there really well with no movement while walking. Added a burnt umber and black wash to the toe spikes. Happy Holidays to everyone, talk to you in 2019!
