Posting these as a response to a Facebook debate ..... I advised I would so people could read the actual history. Then at the end you could decide on your own from the perspective of a customer versus a commissioner.
the most important part is to educate guys like me that came into this never really having the full understanding of the difficulties of the process... so hopefully someone that is a noob thinking about a Fett project reads this ands learns from my issues...
I will also post the TDH chat that occurred when the commissioner went dark for awhile.... when his Facebook broke.

The below TDH messages were again during that period he was not responding via Facebook.
The key is that if you see in the above chats I get hope that strings me along and then I don’t get an update that was promised or I get the missed deadlines...1F4CCAF1-F3B3-40A5-A8E3-7A78AE85307F.jpeg7A1C6E8B-7521-4929-9B5C-66A43CECDEEF.pngA2339B1E-58C5-45C6-8A5F-EF27FF1DE3D1.png
With another vendor for a EE3 I purchased he told me straight up ...”maybe a year”... so I was patient in that aspect since there was no 3-4 months then it ends of being over a year.
So again educational purposes as some of the feedback I got from Facebook TDH members was the following....

Basically said...” buy the helmet and paint it yourself and shut up.....since you cannot paint it yourself you get it when you get it “

Wonder if that is how he lives his life with everything he orders and pays for ? Hmmmmm

.... additional information.
One of the feedback I got from the commissioner in this debate was that at the point in October/November when I had basically come to an end in my patience I asked that if he cannot agree on a set timeline for all the remaining items... Helmet, gauntlets, jetpack that I would ask they be sent off to a new commission of my choosing.
His response to this is that he offered up (6) other Wasted Fett approved guys that would assist by taking over the commission for him to help resolve my issues. He reached out to them to contact me and set up how we would move on...
The problem with that is only one reached out to me... and he only agreed to take over the helmet and finish it.
Not one of the other (5) he states he reached out to contacted me via TDH or Facebook.
And the one that agreed to possibly take the helmet would not take the jetpack and gauntlets.
So not much of a solution... in the end, I did find another commission with the help of a senior Fett/TDH member that helped me a ton in this dispute.
But since that vendor is NOT approved by Wasted Fett I had to get the jetpack (which was heavily damaged somehow) and the new gauntlets (not the ones I had originally had purchased?) shipped to my house and then I had to pay for them to be shipped Wilmington NC to California.... pricey $$$

Sorry to hear of your predicament. I’m in the process of entering into a helmet commission with Lane. He seems to have remained polite throughout his interactions with you, albeit missing several deadlines. I might also recommend redacting what he told you, presumably in confidence, about his mother.

If I do proceed with the commission, I am definitely going to ask for a firm deadline on the helmet barring only exigent circumstances. I was advised about 4-8 weeks. Regardless of turnaround, the quality of his work, as you acknowledged in your messages, appears remarkable.

And as aside, I have had the same experience with WastedFett as you did when it comes to communicating with him...

Would you mind messaging me? I attempted to message you, but it does not appear I have the option to when I navigate to your profile. If you’re willing, I just have a couple questions regarding your experience purely for informing my own decisions in sourcing my Fett parts. Thank you!

Agree about the info redacted but at the same time I felt if I started redacting his messages I would be accused of purposely doing that in my favor.
there were other conversations on TDH via message that were not so positive but ive moved on.
in due time I will purge this as it will be dated and his situation and mine will advance past our disputes.
I found another commission.. Minute Fett... much better... completed my gaunts fast and professionally.
Lanes quality is hard to attack.. I was mad that after that year the Ears were missed.
But... the armor was fantastic... and the Bucket is a work of art.

From my perspective I’m the customer... looking for a service and entrusting a business with thousands of dollars worth of gear...
so in that ... IMO ... I can expect deadlines to be met, communication to be honest and frequent, get updates, etc.

This I learned is part of alot of this community... they have great skill that a guy like me does not... so you “get what you get when they want you to get it and that’s that.” If they tell you 3 months and it’s now over a year ... you CANNOT bitch.
its very hard to adjust to that... so my “ordeal” is more a warning to prepare yourself.

MinuteFett came through to assist with finalizing all that didn’t get done...
-he helped with the missing weathering for the ears on the bucket.

-he did the gauntlets

-the Jetpack is his and he did the paint assembly. (The Wasted Fett pack was sent back to me substantially damaged and determined to be low in quality and unsalvageable.)

I finished the final details of more Velcro on soft parts and they held together great for my two mile approximate Halloween March with my son.
I used a MiCom for the Boba Fett voice effects.
My second EE3 was updated with very loud speakers, super bright LEDs, sound card etc.

So for now it’s “done”... the journey to get here was very tough financially and very frustrating as noted in previous posts.
In the end it’s worth it as it was a bucket list and ironic it’s finished right when Mandalorian brings Boba Fett back from the “dead”.

This thread is historical info for me so years later I can look back at it and also educational for those that do research and read this to see what you might potentially get yourself into.

How it stays most of the time ...
wall mount blasters and Jetpack..
Current mannequin won’t support them.
All in my geek room.
