who installed the Boba sound in his costume?

not to derail this thread, but did your drive motor die or did you delete the drive? if it's the second one then you should try a free program called recuva, it's available on cnet. it's pretty easy to use, just make sure to click the checkbox for recovering file folders otherwise have fun going through about 120,000 unsorted files. i learned my lesson the hard way with that. check it out here: Recuva - CNET Download.com

also, i found my copy of the boba telemetry sound effect and uploaded it to soundcloud, if i clicked everything correctly it should be available for download here: https://soundcloud.com/saint_nasty/boba-suit-sound

and for anyone that may be interested, i found some generic radio chatter on youtube that could be used in a TK or TB to give an extra bit of color to the experience.

The sound is great, but I don't see the purpose of this. Boba Fett has no sounds, except the working microphone and speaker (in the Supertrooper footage) and the spurs (in ESB) added later by Ben Burtt.
The Supertrooper footage has some background noise, but this might be the noise from the nearby city (the whole footage was filmed outside) and partially from the telemetry or feedback between Ben's microphone and the Supertrooper's built-in speaker.
In the Empire, the first time we see Boba Fett on the Executor's bridge, there are a lot of background sounds created by the ship's electronics, but there's no 'Boba sound'; the same goes for the Slave I cockpit scene. When Boba Fett appears at the left side of Vader, there's only the sound of the 'invisible' spurs but there's no 'Boba sound'. At the entrance to the Torture Chamber scene there's only a quiet humming noise created by the building's electronics (?), then the spurs again when they are walking to the elevator, but there's no 'Boba sound'. In the Carbon Chamber scene there are clear sounds created by the overall action and we hear again the spurs in the Hallway scene, but there's no 'Boba sound'. In the Slave I's close up scene we can hear the ship's door opening, but there's no 'Boba sound'.

I agree that this is a good addition to your suit, but there's no clear evidence that any of those sounds were directly attributed to the Boba Fett character.
 
The Boba Fett's page from Wikipedia says:

Fett's "distinctive" theme, composed by John Williams, is "not music, exactly" ... but "more of a gurgly, viola-and-bassoon thing aurally cross-pollinated with some obscure static sounds." Sound editor Ben Burtt added the sound of jangling spurs, created and performed by the Foley artist team of Robert Rutledge and Edward Steidele, to Fett's appearance in Cloud City, intending to make the character menacing and the scene reminiscent of similar gunfighter appearances in Western films.

i think it was a sound effect that was created for the costume that went on tour with darth vader before empire came out.
 
If there's no sound effect for Boba (not talking about music cues), then how come I can hear it in both Empire and the ANH Special Edition? ;)

And saint, the drive motor got burned out by a power surge. The data are all still intact -- I just need to pay the extortionist fee to recover all of it.

You can hear some background noise in a couple of scenes but most of the time there isn't a specific Boba noise (or effect); especially that there are scenes where are dialogues and less music, but I still can't hear that Boba sound. And the 'weird' music and the 'some obscure static sounds' are all added later in post production, the same way as the spurs were added to give more power and myth to the character.
 
I just assumed the electronic sound was Slave-1's inner workings...since the only time I hear it is when he is following the Falcon. I know for my costume, I put in three lower pitch jingle bells in the shin pockets and it gives me a nice spur sound that several people notice.

Yes there is. Matt Wood confirmed it when I spoke to him at a convention, and so did Ben Burtt in the articles.
You also need to watch and reference old VHS tapes / first releases and not the fumbled with new DVD or blu ray ****.

You can certainly have your own opinion but stating that Fett has no sound effect in his costume is like calling the two gentlemen liars.
 
Those were sound effects (if any) added later in post production (like the 'invisible' spurs) and not existing sound made by the suit. That's my opinion.

That's true Raf, but I think this whole thread and concept is more about recreating the 'aura' of our beloved bounty hunter. The 'spurs' and this 'telemetry' sound might just add that extra something for a truly complete and immersive experience for a little kid seeing Fett at Hallowe'en or a con fan who wants to pose with Fett for a pic.

I've heard it remarked that the background sound and music is 50% of a movie-going experience. Without it, a movie just feels flat. I can't remember exactly what exhibit/tour/anecdote it was, but a lot of people remarked that when they were in the bridge set of Star Trek:TNG there was something missing... but they couldn't quite put their finger on it. It was that low-level background rumble/hum that the ship makes when you see it on TV or in the movie. It's just an extra little thing that sells the whole effect and elevates the experience to a new level.

I agree with you, but I'm talking about existing and not post production sounds. These are great effects for the suit to impress the masses, but you don't need them if you strive for accuracy... to be the silent, deadly bounty hunter.
 
I´m looking for these "telemetry sound effects" and none of the links are working anymore. Does anyone still have the mp3 files?
