Supertrooper Uzi choices

In reading about this weapon and looking at original pics and various builds here, I am curious as to which model is used the most. In looking through old Christmas catalogs and stuff I can't find one with a similar stock ( closed end). Is it acceptable to use a standard airsoft/bb one with an open butt? Or should I go with a Marushin model?

You have to pretty much butcher the uzi to make the autoblaster. May as well find something accurate and cheap. I don't see a problem with a BB/ airsoft gun as long as it's accurate.

In looking at the reference photos it really looks like the real one was some kind of crappy cast ( almost looks wood in some spots) one rather than an off the shelf toy. I will just get a decent airsoft one or there is Gonher die cast cap one available as well. No sense ruining a $200 replica Uzi
