ROTJ armor (all the green is done!!!!)

I just thought I´d share where I´m at with my armor. This is after doing the silver layer with an airbrush and Humbrol #11

Does this look acceptable? I´m doing a full layer of yellow next (just need to wait ´til the last part cures fully).

You can also see the pencil outline for the scarring on some of the pieces. I´ve tried to replicate the scarring from the MoM reference pics to some extend at least.

I´ve never done this before, so this is my first attempt. So far I´m happy with the progress. But greater challenges lie ahead...

Are you gonna put a piece behind the diamond to fill the back of the cut out part?

I thought I´d just glue on a piece of sheet metal or something from behind. As far as I can tell from the pics it metal at least.

Yeah that would be cool. How long did it take you to make that set?

Cutting out the pieces and forming them was done in an evening. I did the priming and painting over several days, just to let my wife have a pause from the paintsmell every once in a while. But the process up to this stage can easily be done in two full evenings. I´d estimate about 10-12 hours of work all together if you keep at it.

UPDATE:

Painted the yellow layer on the chest and collar today. I was afraid the yellow was a bit off, but when I painted topically on the MLC pieces it looks ok.

Ok, I'm on the verge of getting going with the green stuff. I've tried searching all around without really coming up with an answer. I know some people just eyeball the color (seeing as pictures don't always show you the right shade). I've got some armor pieces that are spruce green and I'm thinking about trying to match that color by mixing some humbrol. But would I also ned another shade of green on top of that as well?

I have humbrol #76 which looks ok. Does anyone have a definitive humbrol paintlist for ROTJ armor?

Worst case and I'll just sand it down and do it again. But I'd like to skip that part, if I can Any help would be appreciated!

Wow...really nice shaped armour you got there! I'd be interested in how you got the right shape for the chest plates? - I'm working on a custom mando armour and mine just doesn't want to shape propperly

I just heated it in the oven at around 80 degrees centigrade for 5-10 mins, shaped it with my hands and put it in cold water. Voilà!

I'm considering offering these at a later time, depending on what I'll have to pay for the sintra as opposed to what it costs in other parts of the world. We'll see how that fares at a later time though. Gotta finish up Boba first

Ok. Finally got to paint my chest green!!

I added some scratches, they look a little more protruding than they really are becuase of the flash though.
