Just thinking about making my own Fett Rifle.. and I have seen some real nice ones out there that people have made. Now I was wondering if there is any 'How To' Fett Rifle Instructions.... that I could use to make one as close to the real thing.... If so.. let me know.. thanks all...

mykull, I just spent a couple of months working on mine so I will see what I can come up with as far as a tutorial. It is definetly a project that can be accomplished but be prepaired to put in a lot of hours to make it look like the real thing. You will also need a variety of tools. I used a lathe, drill press, belt sander, hand sander, hand saw, router and a ton of elbow greese.

what is good base to make th e gun out of, i was thinking a pellet gun and modifying the barrel but im not sure yet

There is an older model of the Crossman 357 pellet gun that works well. I have seen others use this and it turns out good. The new versions of the Crossman 357 don't have the right kind of grip.

I'm going to try and make mine from a crossman 357 pellet gun! it's an older on, about 10 years old! I'm sure you could find an older one on ebay or yahoo auctions

Has any body used a wood base for there rifle instead of the crossman. I was thinking of doing that and then getting some pistol grips for a 357 mag and putting on the base. I saw this on a storm trooper rifle made out of pvc.

I used a real wooden rifle stock for my rifle. I attached it to a toy pistol, pvc pipe, real scope, etc...

My stock is made out of wood. I used two 1" thick pieces of pine (couldn't find a piece of 1 1/2" thick wood shorter than 12 feet at my hardware store). I cut out the two pieces, screwed them together, and sanded down the seam evenly.

I used a wood base system for mine. I used a Webley schematic for the shape and used Webley grips. PM me for info on some resin grips! I am also having some 1/4" Aluminum Stock Connector brackets that match the webley pistol grip cut at a machine shop if anyone is interested.

Spidy--not a criticsm, but a suggestion towards the best rifle possible:
If you are going to have the grips cut professionally from metal, take a close look at how wide yours is (up and down--not thick)... In the pic above, yours looks a little wide... Could be my eye, or the pic, though...

RifleMaker, These are the exact grips used on the Webely Mark 1 No 1 flare gun. Maybe the angle makes them look wide but they are exact same grips that were used for the movie version. You might be talking about the stock connector and if you are then yes you are right, they are a little thick but it is because of the resin, I needed a little more strength so I made them thicker, the aluminum one's won't be so thick.

That's a solid reason to make it wider like that (pun intended) too. Mine is also cast resin, and is a weak link in the gun with that heavy wood stock. I've actually thought about burying some metal in the resin...

Just got some pictures of the base for what I hope will turn into a mould. Any comments?

Edit: Forgot to mention, the barrel actually hinges like the real webley... and the trigger is usable.

That looks pretty good. Did you make that from wood? What are you planning to cast it in?
The barrel looks a little long, but other than that its good. I'd say add some more small details either before making the mold or as separate pieces after the final casting.

Not a bad bit of wood working there. ON the whole a very believable likeness to the Webley. It looks like at this stage there are few things you can alter. What do you plan on casting it in?

We plan on casting it in aluminum once we get moulds, which'll be a long way down the road...

WOw, ur great with the wood working. Thats incredible. U should get urself a revolver grip to put on the handle of the gun. THat looks awesome.
