Floppy Armor

I am building some mando armor of my own design for a fan film. Because it's for a fan film, it needs to be sturdy enough for the actor to run around and do choreography in it without it flopping around too much. The problem is, though, it plops around.... a lot. How can I get around this? I assume it might work better if I used a sleeveless shirt to hold the armor on, but I still think it will be too loose. Should I put cardboard behind the armor to keep it steady? what should I do?

What is the armor made of and what is the attachment method to the vest/flightsuit/shirt?

EVA foam and hot glue to a cotton shirt

I would suggest a more secure way to attach it the shirt and to a fabric not as soft as cotton.

They flop around because the shirt s floppy, but that's the only shirt I can use.

The armor will remain floppy if you're just using a cotton shirt. The clothing the armor is attached too needs to be able to handle the weight.

Oh, ok. Would you suggest a tighter, sleeveless shirt over it, and if so, what material and how should I attach it? I was thinking Velcro... but idk.

I would suggest a stiffer shirt, like a vest, to attach the armor to. Velcro would work for a fan film but it'll still look floppy if the fabric you're attaching the armor to isn't stiff.

Try a shirt thats too big and line the inside with foam.... should give it a strudier look.
