ESB Half Helmet for TDH Celebration display

Hi all!
I realized I never really posted much about the "secret project" I was working on for the TDH booth at Celebration Chicago. This was an idea that a few of us, including Fett4real, kicked around to show people how a raw helmet kit could be completed as a screen accurate replica.
The kit was supplied by Wasted Fett and is a standard FPH2, which he's been producing for a while now.
The kit arrived in its usual state, white gelcoat FG with resin accessories. If you've worked on one before, you know it's a high quality cast.

I began by prepping half of the helmet. This included cutting out half the visor and keyslot areas, and trimming half of the "skirt" at the bottom.

The intent was to keep the right half in the raw state, so I masked it off and shot primer. In these pics I unmasked everything between steps so you can see the stages more easily.

I hope some of you got to attend Celebration and got to visit the TDH booth! (y):)

I did things in my usual order, so I masked and shot the beige color on the rear panel.

Then I used Winsor and Newton masking fluid to get things ready for the dark green.

The dark green was airbrushed on, and the masking fluid was removed.

The gray and silver damage was added topically.

Next post will show the progress on the dome.

Everything went through the final weathering, just like one of my standard paint ups.

To highlight all the accessories, I went with an exploded view type of setup for the right ear and RF assembly.
