e-11 blaster

So i've been building a empire strike back snowtrooper and I've heard that their e-11's are not the same as a stormtroopers. I can't seem to find any info on this. So, i figure why not ask here. Then second where can i get one without going to ebay and getting over charged for one I'm not sure about. I have noticed a small difference between anh and rotj e-11.
