BH-51512's build thread. From trash to 501st

Gotta go to a Lowes 15 miles from me tomorrow for the right color red. Until then here is what I've got. (Rest of the colors arrive from Amazon on Friday).

All I need is the new range finder stick thing!

So happy with how it turned out.

(and for those wondering why I have 2 helmets it's because one of them will become a custom helmet for the Mandalorian Mercs Club)

I did a thing! Thanks Fettronics!

If you haven't gotten an LED panel for your Fett I highly recommend getting one. It adds so much.

The battery pack is hidden in the utility belt.

Only issue is my velcro armor attachment method is starting to fail me because of the added weight. How do you all secure your armor?

How would you attach the magnets to the fabric?
Somewhere in the post basically you just put the one on the armor and one on the inside layer of the vest. So basically you have two magnets sandwiching the vest between it.

Theoretically you could get the doughnut magnets and sew it to the inside of the vest. Then you'd never see it

Had a friend help me try everything on. Ignore the girth belt placement (makes me look super chubby), the broken hoose, and the random wire (it's for the LED chest panel).

Working on a new way to attach my armor via button snaps. Also added blower fans to my helmet.

Picked up a new cape today, well a new half shelter. Time to cut it up and tear it up.

Improvements! (and one set back).
So I got a sewing machine today. I have minimal experience with one and this one is giving me a headache.
20161003_165535.jpg

I jerry-rigged a solution to my wookie scalps falling off and my tubes falling out (and in the process realized my cape has been on the wrong side!)

Basically the hoses are attached to one end of a parachute clip and the other end is attached to an elastic band that is sewed to my vest. That way it clips on and holds in place while also giving me some more wiggle room.

As for the wookie scalps I used a button snap and a velcro wire organizer to hold them up. (When I get proper armor I'll come up with a better solution).

And for my setback, my gauntlet snapped :( Gonna try to drill the hole out and glue it, might resort to using a metal rod as RKD suggested.

P.S. why do all my pictures upload sideways?
