Visor help

Hey all the TDH'ers I'm currently constructing a Zero helmet from Code Geass. I need to know what to use for a visor as you can see it's a dome and well... i was thinking cutting up a plastic fish bowl but i have to make it so that "i can see them, but they cant see me." i think its called 2 way mirroring or something. Anyway to save you any more boredem of reading through this, help me dented helmeters your my only hope... seriously i need help with this

I don't really know much about this, but you could probably find a tinted plastic bowl or one that looks polarized and then use tin-snips to cut it out the way you want. Neat looking helmet, though.

what you are wanting is the same thing that is used in car tinting, i dont know much about it, but it has to do with the amount of light outside vs. the light inside.

the 405th has a tut on painting a tinted visor. needs an airbrush though... I recommend a fish bowl or thermoform.

Yup. You can also mirror tint the inside of the visor, and then color tint the outside. Makes for a colored mirror.

ok thanks but whats thermoform??? and should i just search for painting visor on the 405th site?

Go to this link... http://405th.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18292 Thermorform is making a male mold, that won'd bond to your visor. It needs to be SLIGHTLY smaller than an original, to account for plastic thickness. Basically, you heat your plastic (only certain types work) and pull it over the maser. Google for more info. Vac-forming is the same, but it works better. Also costs more...

Just sculpt a visor, get some Crystal Clear casting resin, add some pigment and cast it in a pressure pot... You'll be golden...

that tut is so freakin helpful thank you so so so much, still researching that Thermorform thing seems a bit tricky but fingures crossed, im still open to any other suggestions

If you want to shell out some cash, vac form will really help with getting it over the mold. There's a tut on youtube... forgot what it was... just look "how to vacuum form"

yeah i saw that tut i might have to go down that route if it comes to it :/
