VillainWorks MSH2 ESB Restoration.......

Major

Active Hunter
I decided it was time to give my old trooping helmet, a MSH2, a much needed restoration........ fix some physical things with the helmet and update the paint job, and do it at the same time I do the one for Aikaos.....

So, after disassembly, it looked like this.....

As I got down to the surface, I noticed several cracks and holes...

And I also am taking the opportunity to add the physical damage to the helmet, and also in the correct spots.....

I also took the opportunity to clean up the keyslots and square off the sides of the visor holes....

Not as many photos taken on this one, as I'm focusing on the one for Aikaos......

Just need to lay down the blue/green mixture, then peel and start on the dome.....

It's been a long time since I've updated this........ I put it on the back burner to finish up commissions......

This is where I'm currently at....... Silver has been laid down on the mandibles......

Finally getting back to this after the last round of commissions are done.......

After revisiting the colors on the first Elstree helmet, I realized I wouldn't be satisifed with where this helmet was at.....

So I decided to strip everything off I had done......... and now I'm starting over.....

A tedious process, but it will be worth it for sure.

I've also taken the opportunity to add the right cheek bulge discovered recently. I still have some fine tuning on that to do..... but it'll be a bit before I make my way around to the front.

So the base grey-blue has been laid down on the back, and let the masking off begin....... the MSH2 is the one in the middle here.

So the beast is finally done....... only took almost 8 years, and doing 13 other helmet commissions in between...

So, this helmet has: a real Borden Connector, MQ-1 Circuit, Ultimate Climbing Harness, Correct 4 hole chin strap and Polaroid SX-70 Camera Lens.
