Using stencils

So I have my base metallic layer painted on my helmet and I’m about to start my layered paint job. I’ll be using Humbrol maskol but I was wondering if I could use tattoo tracing paper with my stencils seeing as I do tattoos and have a bunch of extra paper or should I use something else to trace the damage on?? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I also am doing a helmet layered right now and would say that is the best method. I made the stencils with wax paper and then laid that underneath and traced it. Before I was just using straight wax paper to transfer the stencil but it would be really hard to see but once I used the transfer paper it was night and day.
