I finished the right mandible this afternoon. That leaves only a bare handful of details that I'll do just before the final clearcoat.
I'll be working on the ears next.

Got the left ear finished. It just needs some final weathering.

I airbrushed the base coat on the RF ear parts and while that's drying I weathered the aluminum stalk.

I finished the lower RF ear part, and masked the ear cap for the black arch.

Here is the ear cap. Once the silver dries a little more I'll add the small black markings.



I also weathered the RF topper and attached it to the stalk. I still need to attach the Polaroid lens piece.

Sure why not. I used lineage poop.

The ear fit test means things are getting really close! Not to get too technical, but the ear fit test is a test performed on the ears to make sure they fit.



The next stage will be to add my special weathering blend of 11 herbs and spices, coat the helmet in a buttermilk and egg mixture, roll it in bread crumbs, and deep fry until golden brown!
Mmmmmm... wait, that can't be right.

Another weird feature on the SE helmet is the "blue marker." There are strange faded blue lines that look like someone drew onto the surface.

More of the final details in progress.
I drilled out the molded-in Borden and replaced it with a machined aluminum piece from Machinecraft Replicas. It's a pretty easy little upgrade!
I weather the Borden by applying a muddy looking acrylic wash to "age" it, then apply some silver chipping.
