The 501st does state "...as seen in film era visual references". Seeing as how, in my eyes, you are one of the foremost leading authorities on all things Fett, I definitely woulda thought you knew. But one wonders.....What "visual references" are they referring to? Just going through the media section on here (Which is a very good repository) I'm also not seeing that Blue Dental File anywhere for ROTJ. I do see it for an ESB Fett though....
Perhaps the 501st could use a bit of an update for that piece, eh?
Just received MachineCraft 's left gauntlet rocket v.3 and it's absolutely gorgeous! I'll just let the photos speak for themselves. All I did to prep it for the shoot was a thorough buffing with a grey Scotch Brite pad.
Here are some comparison shots against the previous version. (V3 on the left)

I couldn't resist putting it up against this promo shot with the best view of the gauntlet from the top. That's pretty damn close imo.
Can't wait to get it painted and installed on my gauntlet!
Here's an update on the gauntlet rocket.
- Broadly masked paint chips with toothpaste
- Sprayed black
- Refined chipped paint with pointy tool
- Clear coat
- Weathered with Payne's Gray oil.
I'll work on the copper cone next before I dust the whole gauntlet with Fuller's Earth.
Referring to Dana's invaluable guide, I replicated the weathering on the copper rocket head as closely as I could with AK Interactive 3rd Gen Lead Grey by airbrush.
The updated Michell stylus brush replicas from MachineCraft feature improved knurlings and brighter finishing like the real deal.
Here's the previous version for comparison.
Needless to say, I promptly installed them on my Anti-Security Blade and applied a light wash of black oil to liven them up.

To my eyes, the shine on the new rods adds to the 'mechanical' aesthetics and provides a much-needed contrast against the overall matte-ness on the prop.
