General ROTJ costume build (conversion from SE)

I recently noticed a raised strip in front of the keypad on the left gauntlet in reference photos of the ROTJ costume. This seems like it was intended for the keypad to look like it was set into the gauntlet.

It's also visible in this screencap.

I replicated this with a styrene strip.

Installed Dakota's metal side greeblies on my jetpack thrusters this morning. I applied some black oil paint wash to weather it.

Dulled down the shine on the MQ-1 calculator keypad with flat grey, dabbed red and blue on the corresponding buttons, and finished with grey again to dial back the vibrancy of the red and blue colors.

I was never happy with the paintwork on my Anti-Security Blade shin tool. The scuffings on the blade looked unrealistic and amateurish, so I did a simple repaint to remove them. Also, I finally found black self-fusing silicone tape that looks much better than the textured gaffer tape.

Looking Good "T" !! The self fusing tape you described sounds similar to Vulcanizing Tape that I've used in the past...

Thanks Don. Yes I believe this is a typical tool in the military and household for binding stuff together. In RafalFett's templates, he indicated this to be 28mm electrical tape, which is proving to be elusive here in Singapore. So I'm improvising with this.

Further updates on my jetpack following some clarifications.

Painted over the black stripe on the beacon with Tamiya Sea Blue.

Painted a #90 dental file in blue to match the jetpack and installed it.

UPDATE: A more accurate lamp has been found in a later post and will be used in my build instead.

I found a more appropriately sized red indicator lamp for my left gauntlet.

The hole I made for the previous lamp was obviously too big, so I patched it up with epoxy putty to fit the new and smaller lamp.

The lamp head is missing a metal ring around its base, so I replicated it with a strip cut from 0.25mm styrene.

I applied silver Rub 'n Buff on the ring to mimic a metallic appearance.

Here's a test fit and comparison against the reference photo.
