Quick blinking LED question

are the LEDs found in the range finder specific blinking ones or are they just regular LEDs that happen to blink based on how they are wired?

my only experience with LEDs was a simple hookup to a tortoise switch for my model train layout.

They blink because of the circuit they are in. There are a few different ways to get them to do it. A few members make kits that you put in the RF.
