Question about girth belt length

The Centaur brand girth belt that is easy to acquire comes in lengths from 38" to 60". That seems kind of long. Do I just need the shortest one?

Edit: Found a 34" one…I assume that one will work. (My normal size for pants is 31".)

I wear 34" pants and my Centaur 34" girth belt is about right, maybe just an inch or two short, but I doubt it.
