Possible Jetpack harness alternative

I could use some feedback on the following product. Does this have any potential as a jetpack Harness? I'm having difficulty finding a suitable alternative to the real deal.

I don't know how that would work.

I considered trying to build something, but ultimately settled on this:
For Sale - Quality Jetpack harness kit

I think most guys use it. It is pricey, but is really the best thing going. Of course, after you buy the hardware and sew the pieces in, the jet pack ends up being a pretty expensive line item on the budget.

I’m building my own. I refuse to pay $$$ for something that hides under your suit.
This is what I’ve got so far...

Harness complete. Works great. Cost more for the buckle than any other piece.
All in all, about $35 worth of materials.
Buckle cost me about $50

There is no alternative in my eyes. The original works great, sits tight and prevents you from beeing choked. Dont waste your money on this.
