NEW BOBA FETT ROTJ BUILD

I’m gonna try and see if I can clean them up a bit more, do you just use a normal file that you would use on nails LOL sorry if that’s a stupid question! I did use a little bit of sandpaper, tried to get in there as best as I could.
The aforementioned needle files come in handy for jobs such as these.

You are on the right track just need to use the files to square off the holes.
I have a whole selection of files I use for this type of work.
Harbor freight is a great source for cheap tools. They are always sending out 20% off coupons too.

Lol no man it’s not a stupid question it’s good to ask questions but no it’s a file that you would use for metal working you can find them at Lowe’s or even harbor freight for cheap

Dang I was a little late on the draw and should have read more before replying but ya those guys have the right idea and like ShortFuse said harbor freight will give you pretty awesome deals and as long as you aren’t buying any drills or electrical stuff harbor freights tool quality is amazing for the price!

That should work although they are pretty small but I guess when working with that small area it should work the only problem is I wanna say those are fine files so they won’t be aggressive so hopefully it will sand the ABS plastic

Someone did post this exact kit in the thread so I’m thinking it should be ok! I’ll get to testing them in a bit and post results :)

You’ll get it for sure seeing the work you’ve already done! This part for me was nerve racking especially since I cut it out before I got my chest display luckily it fit with the cuts I made!

I just ordered my chest display the other day so I’m looking forward to seeing how everything fits!

1/18 - I squared out my chest plate slots a tad more. They needed to be more square. The top slot will need a tad more work but I’m going to hold off on it for now until my chest display comes in (should be here Wednesday!). I got my knee darts situated into the knee pads. I believe I used a 3/4” bit for the large darts and a 1/2” for the small dart. The files also worked great btw! Highly recommend but you definitely need to work the plastic with them slowly as someone mentioned because they are quite strong.

1/20 - Here it is! Got it from JupiterElectronics, it’s got the ESB and ROTJ sequences. Pictures are for the ROTJ sequence.
Would anyone be willing to show me or let me know how they actually got their chest display in place? I’m thinking about attaching it to the flak vest with Velcro but was unsure if that would ruin the display it’s? I appreciate the help!

I use a few strips of the black Gorilla Tape to hold it in place on the chest plate. It is very strong but I am able to remove it if necessary.

I took a more permanent approach. I used Gorilla Hot Glue. See this link:

Also, nice on your LED Chest Display - I've not heard of Jupiter Electronics before - looks good though. (y)

For me.....and this is just me being weird. I couldn't bring myself to do the display of:
Dweep.jpg

I know it is a common thing to see on the chest display. But if you try and pronounce it.....for me I keep hearing "Dweep" which is a might too close to "Dweeb" in my opinion. And a dweeb, I am not - Hahaha! Again, a weird observation by me, I know - but I couldn't do it. Hahaha!

So....yeah concerning the Chest LED and Dweep, much like Mark Cuban from Shark Tank...
Mark Cuban - I'm Out.jpg

I will say this - I'm NOT going for 501st approval - which is why I had the luxury of not going with "Dweep". I also told myself that there was no way I was doing the whole "Boba Thong" thing either. But after the wife telling me that I looked like I had a saggy butt in my flight suit I quickly changed my tune. Which solved the aforementioned issue and honestly, didn't look that bad either. So if anyone has any reservations about putting on the Boba Thong - Just go for it!

Thanks,
-Iron
