fortunately yes (had to buy her a new pair of sandles as compensation

she is fairly tolerant of my Fett costuming and even helpful ....well to a point.

i just need to weather them and then move onto the next part of the costume (flak vest and armour)

All i done was get a sharp pen knife, cut into the sole just below where the leather is attached to the sole (just into the sole, so i didn't cut the leather, when the sole comes of you should still have a sliver of rubber on the leather). I then cut proceeded to cut around the boot being careful not to cut the leather. The sole will then just fall off

then just glue the flip flop onto the shoe

Well here is the 'almost' final version of my scratch built boots. I still have to put the spikes on them but you can get the general idea.

Quinn - i will probably fabricate the spikes from wooden dowel, although i am not sure whether they will be sturdy enough or not. Better make several for when i lose them off the boots

how do u keep your foot from klunking around in them? a workboot with no laces would be pretty loose

The boot fits quite snug. When i originally stripped away the lace section, i glued the boot back together as though the laces (if they where still there) where tied. The elastic on the sides of the boot, which i installed, allow the boot to flex enough for me to get my foot in.

The boot is now really comfortable, although i did have a slight problem with the sole where it attaches to boot at the front (some JB Weld sorted that out though).

Hi Mandalor. I used 'MaxiFIX' fabric glue for the laces and a mixture of 'No More Nails' & 'JB WELD' on the soles. It has held just fine.

Well finally finished except for the spikes on the right foot (may be over the weekend )
