Head's Up Display in my helmet

I am thinking...a head's up display in the helmet on the inside of the visor with clock display would be nifty? maybe even volt meter for battery life, this is really getting into the unnecessary and very bespoke set up but I like the idea of it :confused

Thoughts on the possibility of this and potential?

Sounds cool. Maybe also body temp for those really hot days so one doesn't over heat. Don't know the technology behind this, and also probably overkill, but a camera in the back of the helmet projecting in the visor also so you get an idea of who/what is behind you that may tamper with your jetpack? Going too far maybe? Text message displayed, can't reply but at least you know who is trying to get your attention and if its important enough. Just throwing thoughts out there

Thats a good idea. i just wonder about the weight of the whole thing… between fans, rangefinder stuff, etc, i wonder how heavy the bucket can get

Yeah sure it's getting into the totally pointless and unnecessary but would love to what can be done, I am going to poke around and see what can be ''re purposed'' into a HUD

I like this, only issue is being able to focus on something so close?

Near Eye Displays have a proper ratio of size to distance from your eye, using LED display that allows for you eye to focus as it normally would, without strain. When an image gets smaller, you bring it closer to your eye to lessen how much your eye has to adjust from its default 20/20.

There are a few near eye displays out there that are quite cheap that might work depending on the bucket it's being applied to. I've also considered scraping an old video can corder and using the view finder.

In parallel to this, I'm looking into micro thermal lenses as well. They are out there but the price point is WAAAAY out there. Can't quite justify that one. Yet [emoji23][emoji23]

All experiments. But when/if something gets solid and I start to prototype, I will post progress.

That it awsome, so you could just have a feed from like your phone or something like that plugged into it? then all you would need is a rotating display of say, clock, temp, see what your fitbit is saying regarding to how far you walked and so on and so on. And (if its a big event you are at) something like twitter feed, or Facebook up dates comng through so you can see the hype at the show and get the latest buzz of whats happening there?

That's what I'm thinking. Since this is a display that has the micro USB input... the output source could be a number of things. Something I was thinking would be fun to have is a micro-thermal camera. Attach it to the RF and run the signal to a receiver. From there to the display. Ideally the receiver could also have a smartphone (device) sending a feed to it as well. Somehow. Being able to switch between the two would be amazing. Imagine… viewing your smart phone screen, with a live app that shows social media notifications in real-time while at an event, watch a ‘parascope’ feed from a fellow trooper, then switch to a thermal feed haha so useless but fun as hell hahaha. I’m trying to pin down my mic and audio system first (have some issues) but then I plan to move on to video components like this. Then again I suppose I could just get Google Glass and call it a day. But it’s going to be hard justifying a $1000 upgrade for the bucket hahaha

good lord thats small!

I like the macro display idea, with all kinds of feeds going into it, but what I personaly am trying to track down is a full on projected display, (think Iron Man helmet) but within the laws of the real world of course, it don't seem liekly I will find such a thing sadly so a macro screen would be the way to go!

@ Go Fett Your Self Yes you are also correct this is just the google glass but I don't have the money for one to be gluing it intop my helmet
