Do you have pictures of your mold? I'm just curious how others set set up their molds.
That looks like the cleanest scratchbuilt helmet I've ever seen.
Thanks! It's a pretty cool feeling to build these things from scratch and have them turn into your favorite shelf topper. I look forward to seeing yours come together as well. Until then, enjoy the build!
borden
installed and ready!
making theese mo*her*uckers a little bit more acurate.. still need the slight slope on the upper bit of it.
making the dent more "screen acurate" still rounding it off and smoothing it out a bit.
and im making one of theese That helmet is so clean! i love the super
sculptey idea, it really gave you some crisp edges. I might have to take that idea for my second jetpack build!
did the dent as close to the moviebucket as i could.
primed and wetsanded the helmet
gave it some shiny blackgloss paint and clearcoated it.
brushed on 2 siliconelayers
made a matrixmold. (i have previously made a glassfiber shell of a clayed up helmet. put some pucks of silicone on the layers of silicone as a divider to make the helmet float inside the glassfiber and then poured the rubber.)
did a coldcast of it.
fitted a visor (homemade)Wow. You have done some crazy good work so far.
You have some real talent! Very impressive from start to finish! I look forward to seeing some paint on that badboy
100%. I finished my pep right around the time Anime Fan started doing runs of his budget bucket. I had my pep resined about to start on the bondo, and was like "Eh, screw it. I'll just guy AF's dome", so I really admire people who go through the entire process of scratch building the Boba bucket.
I like the helmet...but is it just me or is the dent on the wrong side of the helmet? Is that caused by a reflection?
