Hi All,

been a lurker for a while and haven’t posted since my intro - decided to make my BS fett helmet into a bust. So far I’m making the shoulders - using Sintra/foamex - used the great plans on here although not going for complete accuracy as it will be a budget build. So far this is where I’m at...long way to go but great fun. Mythosaur tomorrow work allowing (and white paint arriving)....

Progress... need to finish the painting (the collar Paint has cracked but will be sanded pre re coat) - and make a back plate section - the white flak was just a test run the neck seal is done - material for flak en route. Still lots of work but for a total cost of £80 (plus the black series helmet I already had - which has been weathered a bit) I’m pretty pleased. Not accurate but says ‘Fett’ I feel....

Just to add I’m gonna re do the cape with a better material and obviously I need to make some decent wookie braids....

This looks to be a cool little project!

Do you have plans to make the Back Armor as well? And I dunno if its just me, but does it look weird to anyone else without the Gut Armor? I know for both the Back Armor and Gut Armor you'd more than likely would have to cut them in half (in some creative way) just so it'd stand on the table.

Also, that painted Mythosaur......well done sir!

Thank you for your kind words! Yes - I am making the back armour as soon as the foamex/Sintra arrives - also agree re the stomach armour - the chest armour is also cut down by a little as I cut the torso down.

Cannot take any credit for the actual mythosaur - it’s a decal as is the chest emblem - although I’m confident enough to hand paint them I saw little point given the lack of genuine accuracy over all. Still pleased with the over all look though - probably just go with an LED programmed to Scroll as again, this is a budget build and not accurate.....

Progress - need to do ab armour ‘cut off’ and rest of braids plus back plate, buttons etc and weather the flak vest ... centre diamond not got silver insert yet and the armour isn’t affixed properly either hence being a bit all over the place...

Work has almost ground to a halt the last few days (because of ‘proper work) but finally got the armour fully fitted - still waiting on arrival of another sheet of Sintra (the 1st went ‘missing’) then I can finally do the back and upper abs plate. The soft goods need a light weathering and I have the final blond wookie braid to plait when it arrives. collar studs were printed and gifted me - they will eventually be the correct colours when I fit the back plate and cut the bolts down. I cast some in resin too before I was given these - the printed ones I filled with resin also. Gonna plastic ‘weld’ said bolts to the back plate and have already ‘threaded’ the collar studs - just in case I want to take him apart in the future. Still need to weather the collar and left breast plate but hey ho. The viable wire is the battery lead and switch for the (not screen accurate ha ha) chest lights I made. I may need a re jig that corner to squeeze a frozen Han in there (Head already ordered ha ha). Looking about £100 in materials (excluding the BS lid) so pretty pleased over all. Thinking of making a better cape (better material and colours) too but will see....

edited to add i am repainting the left breast plate and neither the current nor collar plate has been weathered.....
