Jetpack is almost done - I can see the finish line.
Today I spent time installing the smoke machine. I took a small corner brace and hot glued it into the body of the jetpack, then used industrial velcro to secure it. I used velcro on the 5s Lipo battery as well and connected the active armor setup for the beacon light.
I also tried to create an enclosure for the backplate. For some reason, the backplate of the jetpack was crazy large compared to the opening, so I had to use my dremel and trim it down. I then took small magnets and hot glued them to the backplate. Lined up where I would put the magnets on the pack itself and trimmed halfway down. Because of the thickness of the magnets, I had to be careful about how far down I was going to go. I hot glued the magnets to the pack. For some reason, it does not close properly and I have to figure that out. I might change out the puck magnets for magnetic strips. I want to avoid the screw method as I will need to have easy access to the smoke machine. How do you close your jetpack up? Hell, velcro would probably work better than what I have. (Actually....I might go do that now...

)
Lastly, my thrusters are currently just jammed into the slots. they seem to be quite snug, but I think. a good little nudge on something might knock them off. Based on what you see inside, any thoughts on how to secure the thrusters temporarily? I can glue them, and that's fine, but I'd rather not for storage purposes.
I still need to:
1) Clear coat
2) Figure out thrusters
3) Fix enclosure system
4) Touch up the colour on the exhaust vent....ugly yellow...yuck. Needs another few coats of grime

5) Install hooks and clips - but I don't think this can be done until I have my armor. Backplate armor creates placement of harness straps. Harness straps creates placement of hooks - correct?
6) I'm gonna grab the bottom greeblies off Lou. I will then create an additional hole for the smoke machine cables to come out. These get connected to the ammo belt.
Here are some pics of what I worked on today
