Cold Cast question

So I've got an Asok cold cast GMH lying around and before I do anything to it (I'd be going ESB unless I can sell it /trade it for a more ESB-friendly bucket) , I wanted to know if the cold cast layer is meant to be cleaned and primed and painted with a base silver or if the cold cast IS a base silver and can be masked? The only problem I see with that is any bubbles or unwanted imperfections would need filler, thereby coating over the cold cast.

You can use the cold cast layer as the silver for the most part.

IMO the coldcast thing is for Jango....the silver paint on Boba and the cold cast layer arent the same color

That's another thing I was thinking. Bobas silver isn't a fresh aluminum look, it's different. But man oh man, just using the cold cast would be so easy...lol

Not as easy as one would think. Paint doesn't like to stick to it...you really need to primer cold cast.

I agree with what has been said. I reread what I typed and it wasn't what I meant. I meant that it is possible....not recommended.

That's what I get for typing really fast before we run out to catch the fireworks show.
