Bo Katan Bo Katan Suit Questions

Black material is the worst... it can "appear" to be any color based on reflection and lighting... I thought it was a blue unitard at first too, but after looking closer, I see it IS a black material like you said Seeker; you can tell mostly by the right wrist and right side of the leg.

It looks also like the positioning of the armor and belts will have to be altered (like your photo Seeker) to accomodate that of a REAL womans proportions and not that of a unrealistic CG person ;)
 
Here are couple of pictures of the helmet I am working on. Tony and I talked color and if I recall we thought maybe try Krylon Ocean Blue. Here is the fresh coat.

Not too bad, I'm still leaning towards a more grey than blue, but it is all perception (like the Jango flightsuit color debate)
 
Hey guys. If your family member/friend doesn't feel comfortable wearing such a form fitting suit...you can always get one of these, and carefully remove all of the excess pockets before washing it a few times with a small amout of bleach to lighten it up thus giving it a dark heather charcoal grey look. It's what I'm using with my mannequin display and it looks great. Plus I have pretty reliable insider information that Filoni himself said the Bo-Katan suit was indeed flight suit material.

Looking at the screen that certainly is a nice color. I am leaning towards grey but I think blue would look great too. Did they have a version with a mock turtle neck? Were you looking at a seperate vest? I look forward to seeing it complete :)
 
I would say the Night Owls have a short sleeve t-shirt/vest with a lighter color band at the edge of the short sleeves. It's obvious there is a step from the end of the short sleeves to where it lays over a more form fitting long sleeve under suit. (just under the shoulderbells) And for colors, the Night Owls (Not Bo-Katan) Their under suite also matches in color for the leggings navy blue with a black wash. While the Vest/Short sleeve shirt is a different color Charcoal Gray with light blueish gray band at end of short sleeve.

Bo-Katan has the same style sewn under-suite with the short sleeve T-shirt/vest with the edging being a more light blue with only a little bit some gray washed into it. But her under-suit is all Charcoal gray and leggings also being form fitting.

TLobe and I were going to try the undersuit (as demonstrated by my kid in the picture above) with a shirt/vest top made of cotton to attach plates and such. I think Mafio's harness system is a good idea I think in regards to the thigh armor/holsters if they are to be functional, espcially for those using the bigger/heavier blasters.
 
Well, Tony and I finally bit the bullett and dove in on trying to make some body armor for our younglings. We are lucky they are similar in size. I was able to get a hold of sintra from Meyers Plastics. We opted for 3mm. It comes in 48"x96" sheets at less that $30 per sheet. They also cut them to size for me. I had no idea how much we would need so I opted for two sheets which I had them cut into quarters so it could fit in my car. Based on the progress we are making so far, we are going to have a lot of sintra left over.

First we went for the shoulder bells. To help with the curve we used a small plastic dish to trace. This is the the first time either of us had worked with this material so this is a learn as you go project. Tin snips we found if you weren't too careful would easily split/crack/fracture the plastic. A dremel or jig saw is highly recommended.

To get the curve/flare we used a standard spray paint can along with a heat gun. The sintra responded beautifully to the heat and cooled quickly. We think the shoulders turned out GEFG (good enough for government) :)

From there we moved on to the thigh plates. Here we used the templates generated by DOD and formed them around standard gallon paint cans.

We were starting on the holster parts before we had to call it a night. Hope to make more progress soon!
 
ah jes, those **** holster plates.

i will first upgrade my Deathwatch suit to metal plates beause of the fear in braking the sintra when sitting down. XD
