Jetpack CO2

So I'm looking at options to make a the jetpack smoke when I make it. so I'm planning ahead. I'm considering using a CO2 or Nitrous cylinder for the "smoke" it will be nice and forceful and give a nice white cloud. but I'm having a hard time finding any solenoid valves for pressure systems.
I'm used to working with CO2 and compressed gas so I know this is safe with the proper fittings and what not. does anyone know of a good place to get low voltage pressure solenoids for a decent price?

It's not C02, but here is how I made mine smoke with an RC plane smoke unit.

I have since lowered the power by shrinking the battery. This creates much less smoke, but gives me a run time of 40minutes.

Wow, 40 minutes is super (the set up I'm working on is only 2-3 minutes), but yours is a tank system, if I recall, right? Here's mine:

BTW, I am close to finishing my Fett and my WIP write-up, and you're a big inspiration for me!

I found that video too that's what gave me the idea lol I'm just toying around with the idea of making it a little more forceful looking lol. I know CO2 and NO2 are not dangerous in the short bursts that I'd be looking at. Ive got the whole system thought up just gotta find a solenoid for it. They make some for NO2 systems on cars but dang $99
Might end up doing that. Put a few high intensity red LEDs in the middle of the gas stream and it will look great

@dv8r : It's not a tank system. You just put the fog juice right into the fan system. There is a substrate in the box that heats up the juice. The output is about the same consistency as yours. The way it was, I barely was able to use it when it was that thick. I kept having to turn it on, turn it off...it got annoying. This is much nicer. Looking forward to seeing your completed Fett!

@bpwmd : I don't know how a C02 setup would work. I've done C02 and solenoids with planted fish tanks...but that was a much larger setup. I think I remember seeing GatorFett or Gator...(hmmm?) ...he did a solenoid setup. The solenoid from what I remember was the most expensive part of his build. I built my system for $230...I think his was a little cheaper or comparable. Not sure on the run times. I personally prefer the smoke to the C02 as the C02 will also make a lot of noise, plus you may need the lights in order to see the exhaust. Either way, good luck and all the best!

Glad I found this topic as I've been considering doing the same effect by modifying a technique I used in my GB proton pack. Running off a 12v battery w/ a voltage reducer you can power an e-cig atomizer to create the smoke. Filled w/ a 50/50 mix of fog juice and glycerin it's non-toxic. Basically, I use a small aquarium bubbler to force air through the e-cig to create the smoke, and then use a CPU fan to disperse it. This isn't my video, but the effect can be seen here:

noise isn't necessarily a bad thing lol ;)
