tjr2d2's "Gotta Start Somewhere!" ESB Build

Greetings All. I was able to spend a little time on the bucket today. I managed to get the black color airbrushed in on the upper cheeks, but ended up with a few little mistakes I had to fix on the (wearers) left side afterwards. I am hoping after hitting it with 0000 steel wool tomorrow (or later today),((it's pretty late right now!!)) that it will all blend together nicely. Here are some pics;

and here are a few shots after I fixed the mistakes and put on a light layer of base gray.

after all that was said and done I went ahead and got the kill stripes prepped for some yellow and orange paint, which will have to wait to be done in the afternoon. I attempted to try the little plastic template thingy and masking tape method, but it gave me a headache trying to get everything to match up with the rest of the existing damage. So I just went the simple route and printed out the stencils, got out the tracing paper and maskol and whoa lah!

That's all for now. I will hopefully get these kill stripes all set either tomorrow or Friday. Until next time, thanks for checking in and be well!

Those kill stripes are gonna look good.....very nice!! Question....what did you use to mask the lower cheeks? Just tape? Happen to have a pic? Tnx!

Thanks a lot! Yes, I used the small (6mm) masking tape around the curve and the rest was regular painting tape that I used for the cheek area. Sorry I did not get any pictures. :(

I think it's safe to say these colors are NOT my favorite to work with. But, regardless of the ever so thin yellow, and chunky thick orange paints the Kill Stripes are now painted. I'm happy with the transition between colors so now i am gonna let them dry REALLY well before messing with them. They are so bright and messy they will easily ruin all my work in a heartbeat! And that would make me very sad!
