With the support of MANY here on TDH and elsewhere, we wanted to make a very special announcement to kick off 2008….
I am happy to Officially announce The Jeremy Bulloch Project!!
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
I few months ago after a recent Sci Fi Expo here in Dallas Texas, where Jeremy Bulloch (the real Boba Fett) attended and was the guest of honor at a Starwars.com Fan Club breakfast, I had a great opportunity to meet and speak with Jeremy one on one. I was also the Boba Fett in costume at the Breakfast (courtesy of Jason, aka Darthmiller).
In the course of my many conversations with Jeremy throughout the day I was thrilled to find out that he was amazed at the work we had done on the Fett suits that were displayed by TDH at the Expo…he said “it reminded him of the suit he wore during filming”…I figured at the time he said that kind of thing to everyone in a Fett suit so I humbly accepted his praise of our work.
I was then stunned to find out that he REALLY wanted a wearable Fett Costume of his own, and had been wanting one for sometime…..and I was even more stunned that he didn’t already own a Fett suit of some kind. (Light goes off in head)
Hence the JB Project was born!!
After speaking with Darthmiller we decided that we would reach out to Jeremy and see if he would allow us to build him a Fett suit of his very own.
With some help from Phillip Wise (owner of Rebelscum.com, The Force.net, and Star Wars Official Pics) we were able to get in direct contact with Jeremy and offer our services in Building him a suit….which he gladly accepted…
Initially Jason wanted to finance the whole thing….and with the contacts we’ve made here at TDH we figured it would be easy.
We contacted two of our senior members here at TDH and close friends, Batninja (Eric) and Fettpride (Chris), to get further input …..and after looking at all the costs and time involved in making Jeremy the “perfect Fett suit”….we quickly realized we would need the help of allot of people to pull this off.
Eric suggested we should open it up to ALL TDH members that would be willing and able to donate on any level …..and we figured if this project became a reality that they would all love to be apart of it anyway….
So after months of reaching out to fellow TDH Fett makers, painters, artists, seamstresses etc ..... I am happy to announce that 95% of the suit has already been donated!!!!! WOO HOO!!
I want to personally thank EVERYONE that has donated so far. There is still allot of work that has to be done…and we are receiving parts and pieces daily.
I also want to thank The Dented Helmet Administration in there continued support of this project.
Once everything has been received I will be posting a “MAKERS LIST” …to give credit where credit is due to those that have contributed so far…as They are the heart and soul of this project.
Keep in mind that some of the great Fett gear you have been seeing here lately on this Board was specifically made for this project...cough cough (FP) .
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE TDH FAMILY??:
With this great opportunity we wanted everyone here at TDH to be involved in someway…..unfortunately due to time constraints not everyone that makes Fett parts was asked to help donate….so I do apologize to those makers.
BUT what it does mean is…We don’t want this to be just a “TEXAS” thing….we want this to be a “TDH Community” thing, as we are planning to present Jeremy with his new suit on April 5th and 6th at a Sci Fi Con here in Dallas, Texas….where we'll be making Jeremy an Official TDH Member!!! ….Everyone from The Dented Helmet is welcome to attend so please make plans now!
**In addition, Phillip Wise will also be hosting an EXCULSIVE dinner after the show (April 5th) at his now famous Star Wars museum and workshop, where we can all meet and greet Jeremy on a personal basis, as well other invited guests of the Con will be in attendance…..
This will only be for TDH members and invited Guests ONLY 8)(times will also be announced later)
I will start a sign up list later to get an official head count for the dinner.
Hope to see everyone there!!
**************************************************************************************************************
In Closing, we do know that this type of project was tried several times before in past years, but for one reason or another it never got its foot off the ground…
I want everyone to know that so far it’s been really great to see all the REAL support that we’ve received from everyone involved.
Our goal is Not Only to make Jeremy a suit of his very own that will fit him, but to make a suit that will be of the Highest Quality in accuracy with the top makers in our Fett and TDH community
Its stuff like this that reminds me we are an AWESOME and unique community.
And just so you know…………………………………………… Jeremy wants an ESB suit …...LOL!
Again thanks for all the support so far….
Please contact myself, Darthmiller, or Batninja with any additional questions, as more details and progress pics will be posted later throughout.
Thanks,
Alex
