Superjedi's Fugly ESB for Soa

Hi Fett fans!
I'm back for another ESB helmet adventure. This one will be a screen used version for TDH member Soa.
The kit is a Fugly helmet from Wasted Fett. It's the usual excellent quality and i finished all of the cutting, trimming, etc. this morning.
The helmet will get a coat of primer early tomorrow, then the wild painting rumpus will commence!

I hit the helmet with primer early this morning, and once it was dry I sprayed the base color on the rear panels. Now I'll let this dry until tomorrow, then begin stenciling and masking for the dark green.

I masked the damage on the rear panels and airbrushed the dark green. I'm not good at coloring inside the lines.



I'll post the results when the green is dry and I remove the masking fluid.

Ah, this is more like it!
Now that the major shapes are on, I'll go back in with a fine brush to refine a few edges and add the smaller details.

These threads are always my favorite to watch. Watching the progress is amazing.

I think you're clearly biased.

I adjusted the damage shapes and added the smaller details. Now it's ready for some gray and silver.

The left panel is finished. It really comes alive when all the detail is added.

Whew! Here's the big scrape on the right panel. My eyes always get a good workout when I do this section. The rest of the whole panel won't take as long as it does to do just this area.

I've been working on the dome damage and was able to get a good amount done today.

Here is the damage on the crown of the dome. A pretty good amount of detail up there.

I think I may have asked you this before but do you have a list of the colors you use?

At this point I wonder if you even need to look at reference photos anymore

My color list consists of more custom mixes than out of the bottle colors these days. I'm always playing with my blends, so they change a bit from helmet to helmet.

Yes, I always use reference pics when I'm painting. My memory is pretty good, but not that good. Lol
