Everyone ready for a new helmet?
I'm starting number 68 this weekend! This one is an older "Fugly" kit from Wasted Fett. It's got a nice metal ear set, and a metal Borden piece from Machinecraft Replicas.
I'll be doing this one as a screen used ESB.

Did a bit of clean up work around the visor opening and the skirt. The owner sent the helmet with the majority of the prep done, and I just smoothed things out a little.
Here's the helmet under a couple of coats of Tamiya primer. This is the cleanest it'll look from here on out!

I laid down the first color on the back panels.

I'm waiting for the first color on the back panels to dry, so I scuff sanded the metal ear set, masked off the bare metal portions, and hit them with some self-etching primer.
I'll let this cure for at least 48 hours before hitting them with the color coats.

We've got the dark green on the back panels. Now I can begin adding the gray and silver damage.

I finished the left panel this evening. On to the right side!

The right panel is all done. I love all those fine details in the big scrape! Next step will be to get the green down on the dome and cheeks.

I got the base green airbrushed on the dome and cheeks. I'll begin the damage once this dries.

I finished the back area of the dome. Lots of nice little scratches!

Here's the next section of the dome. A certain animal scratch will be coming up very soon!

Cat scratch time! I really like painting this feature.

Here's what we like to call the turn signal area. It's not hugely detailed but it's still important.

Here's the famous dent! This gives the helmet so much character, and it's a lot of fun to paint.

I finished the detail on the top of the dome. There's a lot going on up there!

Little known fact: at 15 kills, a bounty hunter would earn a personal pan pizza and a medium drink!

I finished the rest of the damage on the dome. Moving on to the cheeks!

I got the dark color down on the outer cheeks.

The right cheek is finished.

I got the left cheek done.
Now what will be coming next? Hmmm, I need to hide the rest of that boring gray primer with something...
