Superjedi's FPH2 ESB for Covafett

Back at it again! This thread will document my THIRTIETH ESB helmet build!
It's an FPH2 kit with a metal RF stalk and metal Borden.

All the tedious prep is done and I've started my favorite part--painting! I've gotten some primer down and the first color coat is on the rear panels.

Here are most of the accessories. The main ear parts are out in the garage with wet primer right now.
You can see I've installed some rare earth magnets in the upper ear cap.

Before I primed the ears I noticed that Wasted Fett molded the RF ear upside down! But I'll figure out a way to work with it.

Even though it's a "boring ESB," I'll keep posting pics. Cuz, you know, reasons.

I'll end the weekend with the two main colors on the rear panels. Everything was stenciled, liquid masked, and airbrushed with dark green.
Once the masking was removed, I tweaked the edges of the damage areas to get as close as I could to the reference pics.
Here's the left panel.

And here's the right panel.

Now everything's ready for gray and silver. I'll begin that tomorrow.

Got some more done over the last couple of days. I worked on the left panel, including the gray and silver, as well
as some mechanical weathering--physical scratches. Here are a couple of angles.

Been working throughout the week on the right panel and I finished it up a while ago.
That big scrape never gets any easier, but it sure is satisfying to get it done.
Here are a couple of shots.

Now that the rear panels are finished, it's time to mask them off and lay down the dome/cheek green.

The next stage is complete--dome green. I sprayed the base color, then added the first weathering blend.
It always looks a little stark at this stage. But once I begin applying the gray and silver, it'll take on a more familiar appearance.

This will dry overnight and I'll begin the dome damage during the week.
