Hey everyone! Wow it's been a minute. I went back to working on my ammo pouches yesterday and today. I made aluminum boxes and wrapped them in leather and made my straps from leather too. Check out some I've made. I used snaps and I had to change the process of putting the snaps in because it damaged the exterior leather when I set them. Oh well I'll find a way to hide the 2 that it happened to.

Started working on the ammo belt itself today and was able to make the majority of it. It is thin leather wrapped in a brown leather, just like the ammo pouches, and dyed to be the right color. I put the grommets in and the wifey began hand stitching it.

While she worked on that I began shortening the girth belt. Painful and time consuming, I moved the knots and pulled each cord up and down back and forth to shorten it up, tied it off and trim the excess.

We decided to call it a night with just a little bit of stitching left to do another day. I threw the 4 pouches that were finished onto the belt for a few photos.

Well! I decided to skip the headache and went with the paint method. It's pretty bright but I wanted to weather it down the right color. I'm happy with it so far!

I think he meant the ammo belt. :p
Funny, I also though Buda was asking about the girth belt. But yeah, it does make sense that he's be inquiring about the ammo belt weight seeing as how each ammo pouch is an aluminum box wrapped in leather. I'm kinda curious myself how much it weighs now.

Well how would I know!? I haven't finished the ammo belt yet! Lol

Yea for sure I'll get a weight on it when done. I thought you meant the girth belt because it definitely got heavier with the paint. I used Rustoleum Safety Red Oil Based Paint.

The aluminum boxes aren't that heavy but yea there is alot of leather in this belt. I'm sure if you couple the aluminum boxes with pleather it would be so much lighter.

It's nice to talk with you guys again! Missed you all!
