Slash Goes ESB Fett

Finally got the range finder servo working. Man that took me ages, I spent bloody hours over the weekend tinkering with it!!!!!
The electronics with JC27's kit was really easy, but getting the RF to go the full range of motion to hit the micro switch was painful!!! I think most of the problems came from the fact that the servo didn't really have a completely flat space to sit inside the helmet. I could have made a platform for it to sit on but the shaft wouldn't have been long enough then to reach through the ear. It's also difficult, the tighter the range finder sits the more chance that it catches and won't go the full range of motion. At the same time if it's too loose the whole RF stalk wobbles when you walk around. A difficult balancing act.
Anyhow, here is a vid of it. I will have to post some more pics of Major's awesome paint job that he did on the helmet too.
On a completely unrelated note I have to post some pics of a bucket list item I ticked off a couple of months ago!! Well not totally unrelated as I sold a few bits and pieces of my GN'R collection to fund the Fett build.

Well I recently got the last piece of the puzzle for my build. My EE3 from Sidewinder. It's awesome!!!
It's got the Plecterlabs Blastercore 5.0 board in it, so has lights and sounds. It has a regular speaker plus bass speaker in it, LED bar for the ammo, LED's for the muzzle flash etc. The sounds you can use with board really make it very cool - blaster sounds, stun, reloading, empty sound, sound clips, music (lol). I quite like the background hum you can have with it that gradually lowers as the ammo goes down until finally empty.
Sidewinder was quite inventive when we discussed options of where to put the auxiliary switch and auto switch. The hammer is the auxiliary switch so I just have to push that in slightly to change settings, reload etc. He put a small toggle type of switch on the trigger so it can switch to fully automatic mode.
I will hopefully post a video of it soon (once I can work out how to shoot it while also manipulating the gun). But in the meantime here are a couple of pics.
Now all I need to do is suit up and submit my 501st application - finally!!!!!

Thought I would mention I sent my approval submission through and managed to get it first go BH10690!!!
Gotta say a big thanks to (Jeremy) Jbdubz for all his help with my costume. He does amazing paint work and assembly. Plus I hounded the poor dude with dumb questions throughout my entire build
. He must have dreaded seeing my emails coming through almost daily to him!!
Also thanks to Robert (Major) for exceptional paint work on my helmet!!! It's beautiful!

I've still got some minor tweaking to do. Getting the helmet interior sorted with the fans etc is still a job to do. Plus some other minor stuff just so things sit right a bit better and are easier to get on and off.
