Hi everyone! Some of you may have seen the helmet paint up thread from me a few years back. As I’m now getting around to other areas of the build, I thought it would be a good idea to start a WIP thread. It’ll also stop me having to create a new post every time I have a question!

Just to set expectations for what kind of build I’m going for: I am going for 501 clearance so certain things will need to be done a certain way. I like to aim for the optional 2nd level of detail to save time should I ever decide to go for ‘infamous.’ So, For example, the armour has to be attached to the vest using the grommet method.

As far as the level of screen accuracy goes, I sit somewhere between screen and in-universe accuracy. My basic goal is to build an accurate costume I can troop in. I’m not too bothered about original parts, just as long as it passes the CRL so you probably won’t see anything in here about trying to find an Ever Ready Mini light! Similarly, I don’t really care what the inside of the helmet looks like so I won’t be trying to recreate anything in there.

So far the helmet is painted. Visor is not attached yet as I have some bolts on order from Bobamaker. I’m also waiting on a light kit from NeoFett before sorting out the rangefinder. Additionally, I also have a circuit board on order from BM

Armour pieces from MinuteFett. I won’t post pictures of those just yet since they’re only rough trimmed and not painted or anything and we all know what that looks like!

My NeoFett gauntlets arrived a few days ago so that’s probably what I’ll be tackling next
