Okay, so I'm hearing I should either lose the tubing entirely and just have the fin, or lose the fin and just have like a tube mowhawk. Well, I like the idea of a tube mowhawk, but I feel like the hose stuff I'm using wouldn't look right alone, so I guess I'll lose that and just have the fin. I ought'a have some more progress soon along those lines, so thanks for the suggestions Carud and Saint_nasty!
Mando.wannabe: I actually used an angle grinder to cut it out. I tried doing it with a sawzall, but I could'nt cut accurately enough, and other than the angle grinder my only other option was a torch, which I have no experience with. An angle grinder is actually ideal for this type of metal, because it's too thick for any type of saw to work well with, but it's thin enough that you can actually do some pretty good quality curves.Kandosii! Great work, ner vod. Quick question: when you cut the sheet metal, did you use a bandsaw? Or did you do it by hand with a hacksaw? Just curious...got a little experience working with sheet aluminum, but nothing that thick.
