I just returned from a weekend troop at Legoland in Malaysia over 13 and 14 May. It was my first international event and I was trooping alongside 105 other members from Asia; Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, and Australia. Needless to say I was pretty nervous about tripping up or having parts of my costume fall off. It turned out to be a really fun, social experience with lots of swag trading thrown in. Anyway, here are a couple of photos mostly from one of our event photographers John Gullidge;
The limited space means you get up close and personal with everyone.
Fetts from Malaysia (out of costume), Indonesia (me), and Philippines (right).
Waiting for the opening parade to get organized. It rained halfway through but we pushed on.
Army of two (the pesky braid keeps getting caught over my gauntlet!)
Reunion with dad.
This is one of my absolute favorites!
I love moments like this.
Obligatory group photo in front of the entrance.
Our little Celebrations 2017 moment when we chanted "501st! 501st!".
Finally, I end with this image that, to me personally, symbolizes camaraderie between troopers regardless of where we originated from. I witnessed and experienced a bond that exists amongst us even though we only met for the first time.
It was such a huge relief that my armor held together well and I received several compliments, which is really motivating. I did kick my right boot into a curb and loosened one of the toe spikes. It's been fixed with epoxy putty and is curing now. I hope you liked the photos and please feel free to point out any issues with my armor. Signing out for now.
