General ROTJ Boba WIP -- Feedback appreciated!

BobaYaga

New Hunter
Hi yall! I just started my first ROTJ Boba for SWC 2027! Looking for highest possible accuracy within a $2000 budget (501st membership is a lower priority at the moment... just looking to get it done in time!)

I have a 3D printer that I just got for Christmas (Bambu P1S), so I'm looking to hopefully use that to print the armor.

I did some research in the forums for a couple of hours, and here's what I have so far for potential vendors. LMK what you think and if there are better deals out there, I'm open to feedback!

Armor (Helmet, Armor, Gauntlets): MinuteFett (3D Files)
Flightsuit, Flak Vest, Ankle Spats, Cape, Utility Pouches, and Neck Seal (All unweathered): CB Props
Gloves: Bobamaker
Girth Belt: (?)
Leather belt with pouches: CB Props
Visor Clips: MinuteFett
Jetpack: RafalWorks
Metal Rangefinder: MinuteFett (I assume this replaces the one included in the 3D files?)
Shin Tools: RafalWorks
Shoe Spikes: RafalWorks
Jetpack Harness: CuchoGalaxy (etsy)
Visor: Welding visor replacement shield (prob on Amazon)
Helmet Padding: (?)
Tubes for gauntlet: Braided vinyl tubing at hardware store (not sure how to attach it to 3-d printed gauntlet)
Paints/brushes for weathering and base coats: (?)

I'd say the two pieces I'm most concerned about at the moment are the soft parts (especially quality of flight suit from CB Props? If anyone here has experience with them, I'd love to know), helmet padding, electronics, and shoes.

Any feedback is appreciated and I'm very excited to finally be starting this journey! :)

I’m an electronics person. Ask me anything when you get to that stage :)

I recommend galacticarmory.net for 3d files and QuestDesignCanada for metal. I find their parts are very forgiving when combining parts from a variety of vendors.

¡Hola a todos! ¡Acabo de empezar mi primer Boba ROTJ para SWC 2027! Busco la mayor precisión posible con un presupuesto de $2000 (la membresía 501st es una prioridad menor por ahora... ¡solo quiero terminarlo a tiempo!)

Armadura (casco, armadura, guanteletes): MinuteFett (archivos 3D)

Looks like you have some good vendors picked out!

I have not purchased a Fett suit from CB Props, but I have purchased a few other custom tailored costume suits from him and they are great!
And relatively quick too, less than a couple months each time which is really good in this hobby. FYI CuchoGalaxy / Kriptontop / CB Props are all the same seller.

As far as helmet pads go, the most commonly used options are tactical helmet pads, hardhat liner, or military helmet liner.
My favorite is the PASGT helmet suspension liner with PASGT sweatband, It's very comfortable and makes the helmet very connected to my head with no wobble.

If you are open to it, I would consider investing in a hobby airbrush for this project. Doesn't have to be an expensive one but a lot of the look of the paintjob look is attributed to fine misting and shading of parts and in my opinion it's the way to go.

I’ve used CB props years ago now. It’s not perfectly accurate but well made and great fabrics. Excuse the video just a better perspective on the look.

Mines 4 yrs old and has been washed every troop. Need a new one.

Man Of war for your girth belt, delta works for your ammo belt

My helmet is Minute Fetts and armour, gauntlets and jet pack are Bobamakers

Your gonna have to keep your ear to the ground on hear and Man Of war who do runs so many times a year for boots.

Didn’t have a great experience getting mine which are Wasted Fetts.
Mainly as they didn’t mark the return ‘return’ I got charged 2 lots import tax.

Any questions feel free but mine is not approved as I disagree on some colours and how it was painted lol

Thanks for all the help! So glad to get so much feedback-- and the vid you sent looks awesome! I'll probably go with CB props this time, maybe upgrading it later down the line :)

Thanks! Didn't know they were all the same seller makes my job slightly easier. I'll take a look at that helmet suspension liner--and yeah, i think getting an airbrush might be good. Thanks so much for the feedback :)

Thanks! I'll keep you in mind once I reach that part :) I've taken a look at galactic armory but it seems like they only have files for BOBF--though they have tons of videos on their YT channel that will be helpful in the printing process for me :)

I recently upgraded my soft parts to CB, very impressed!

The spats I made myself, saddle bags on the ammo belt were dyed and are Arkady.

I got gloves, vest, and flight suit from CB. They fit very well. I put the vest though some extra dye baths to color it a little better because I'm picky but as it comes isn't that bad.

Woah, it looks amazing!!! (Love the little Boba too haha). Pretty confident in my choice of CB props now... people seem to have had good experiences with them! :)

My one suggestion would be request the legs be a little longer for that baggy ankle look. The length mine came from my measurements isn't bad, but an extra 2 inch of fabric woulda done wonders.

Same thing with my x-wing flight suit from him, super tapered and slim in the legs and it's not supposed to be  so ... definitely add some padding to your measurements. You can always take it in but you can't let it out if it's too tight from the start lol

His Fett suit and vest look nice though, thank you for sharing Neo!
