Question for those who have made girth belts...

I couldn't find the answer to this question in the tutorials, so I figured I'd go ahead and ask here.

What oz is the leather you guys use for the backing of your girths? It's looking like 4oz leather to me, but I just cant tell. Making one for my custom and just cannot tell by the pics how think that is. Don't want to order something thats to thin!

I use 2/3 oz tanned hide. I've also used 2/3 oz analine dyed hide. Basically the thickness of leather you'd find used for a leather jacket or bag would work.

i also used the same...anything thicker will result in making it too stiff to be comfortable
